"We're Full Up with PUD'S..Please Make Them Go Away!"

This protest ad ran in last Friday's Nolenville
Dispatch. Personally paid for by Mr. O'kain
and Mr. Clark..local residents who along with
many more in our community DON'T LIKE
PUD'S. What's a PUD? It's a development
with small lots 6,000 sq. ft. like Bent Creek.
Over 75% of local residents told city hall NO
PUD'S PERIOD. Despite this message to our
city hall..Mayor and his 2 majority aldermen
have approved PUD'S OVER AND OVER!!!

PUD streets are too narrow
for ambulance and fire trucks.
Recent emergency call requir-
ed ambulance team to scramble
out of the vehicle and run down
the street with stretcher/ gurney
to rescue patient.
Your Mayor and 2 majority aldermen
plus planning commssion approved these
narrow "undersized"streets.
Enough is enough!

What can you do as a local resident? Call your
neighbors and bring them with you to next town
hall meeting 2/2/06.Thursday at 7 PM. Then
everyone of you sign up to speak directly to the
Mayor eye-ball to eye-balls. Make sure you have
his attention before you start to speak, he has
a habit of talking to city attorney and not paying
attention to you. Pick out just one attention
grabber...&^$%#$...then speak up so everyone
can hear you... THEN SPEAK CLEARLY
AND SLOWLY "NO MORE PUD'S PERIOD!"
Move aside so you neighbor can speak after
you with same message.."NO MORE PUD'S
PERIOD!" Then the next neighbor and on and
on and on...just maybe he'll get it. Get creative
and bring along some posters 16"x 24" nailed
to small post. Quietly while your neighbor is
speaking to the Mayor the rest of your 50
member group can hold up their signs...each
with a different message, but same point......
"NO MORE TEENIE WEENIE LOTS ON
TEENIE WEENIE STREETS"

Before the next 2/2/06 thursday meeting take
time to call or email the Mayor and 4 aldermen.
Be sure to call Mr. Dugger and Mr. Alexander
they make up the "majority-twins" guaranteed
to vote with the Mayor every time.

PUD stands for "professionally undersized
development"with hiking trails, pocket parks,
reflecting ponds and community tree houses.
But no room left over for houses and streets?

Call Mr. Clark and Mr. O'kain and thank them
for their ad and ask them what you can do to
help. Call your friends and make sure they have
read the ad. After Feb.02 we have 8 town hall
meetings left before the November 2006
election. WE NEED A QUALIFIED CANDIDATE
TO RUN FOR MAYOR AND TWO ALDERMEN.

Send in your comments and emails to us ASAP!

No more Munchkin Land houses for Nolensville. We have had enough of these developers calling the shots.
It's time for the mayor to be accountable to the folks that put him there.

I moved here to Nolensville to ENJOY the beautiful countryside!

I am opposed to the PUD model; these plans cram too many houses into a small area. The land owners, developers, and local government get richer while the residents suffer from the congested traffic, poor infrastructure, and loss of beauty to our town.

I live in one of these developments and did not realize what I have bought. As more and more of them are built, the value of my home falls. I know it seems selfish, but maybe they need to build fewer to protect my property values.

Distressed

The other day we drove through a Nolensville PUD neighbohood, looking at houses for our daughter and her family.
We saw children playing ball in the street because of their tiny backyards. The narrow streets of these Puds are not a place for these kids to safely play.
My daughter and her family decided to stay in Mt. Juliet and build a bigger home on nearly a half acre lot for the same price, and the same builder as in Nolensville!!!
Wake up Nolensville and see the light. Tell the mayor you are all PUDDED out.
