Is History Repeating Itself ? re: Nolensville Annexation?

Way back in 2002, Nolensville & Brentwood
signed off on a interlocal agreement that says
that when both cities' boundries touch we'll
share in the cost of road maintenance.
Now that the Nolensville annexation is a done
deal things have hit a snag right in the middle
of Waller road.The Nolensville annexation in-
cluded Waller road north of Sunset Road and
assumed the rest of the road would be maintain-
ed by Brentwood. Not so...Brentwood never
annexed that portion of the road...it is still main-
tained by county. Now wouldn't one expect that
city leaders and their attorney's would check this
out before signing? "Right now, we're in a
situation where we'll be maintaining half of a
road with the county because we were under the
impression (assumed) that Brentwood had
annexed that part awhile back," Nolensville
Town Attorney Bob Notestine said.

Now fast trackback to 2002 where it was said
somewhere along the way it was discovered a
mistake was made by Nolensville city leaders
about the buffer zone plan for development.This
resulted in an ongoing "tug-of-war" between both
cities that was finally settled in 2005.

attorneys and officials will work out a solution
after the fact. Nevertheless, it does make one
wonder how such an obvious mistake could
happen right under the noses of so many experts???
