NOLENSVILLE MAYOR URGES CAUTION AS SHE BLOWS-UP $8 to $10,000 PLUS FIREWORKS AS DIRECTED BY DUGGER FORMER MAYOR DESPITE NO RAIN!

When Dugger says, "Do It", our Mayor
hops to it...no questions asked. Just
do it! When is the last time you wrote
an $8,500 or more check of the town's
funds
and then promptly BLEW IT UP?

Damn the drought! Full speed ahead!
Fire off the bottle rockets and let the
sparks fall where they will? Tough
luck if your house and lawn suddenly
explode into a red-hot inferno?

Don't worry the Mayor's company of

professionals are covered with FOUR
MILLION dollars of liability insurance!

But first you'll have to prove that your
house fire was their fault?
And is your
house covered for fireworks mistakes?

Since when can the Mayor guarantee
that no sparks will float over to your
house and start a barbecue?

It is no secret the town budget reveals
the town is seriously short of funds.
So What? Let's just show everybody
how "grown up" we are and hire a
professional fireworks company to
take almost ten thousand dollars of
town's money and BLOW IT AWAY!

Sorry folks, but the adults are just
not in charge in our town hall. Can
you believe it?
The puppetmeister
and his "puppet-mayor" are still
hard at work burning up what's left
of the town's funds right in the

middle of one of the worst droughts!

What a terrific example for young
people.
Town doesn't have the
money to spare to buy fireworks.
But let's do it anyway! To blazes
with the budget just blow it away?

PS: Ask our Volunteer Fire Chief
to cancel any fireworks displays
in the park due to extremely high
fire potential! He will do the right
thing even if the Mayor and Vice-
Mayor won't!
BREAKING NEWS!
SHELLBYVILLE HAS CANCELLED
THEIR FIREWORKS DUE TO THE
DROUGHT DANGER FOR FIRE!

Someone told us that the town board is going to local businesses to get donations for this fireworks? Why would a responsible local business donate their money to such irresponsible programs. The Mayor and Vice-Mayor will probably end up paying more than $8,500. Nolensville has no business spending city money this way.

7:27 PM how right you are! If the town doesn't have the money where is it mandated that we have to spend money on fireworks just because Franklin and Spring Hill does it? They are 50 to 60 thousand people with much more money. Nolensville is about 6,000 people and our town budget is broke! Let's let Dugger pay for it out of his own pocket.

Downtown Nashville fireworks on the riverfront attract tv viewers around the world for some 50 minutes costing close to one million dollars. The Mayor's fireworks will probably go for almost 10 minutes at $1,000. per minute. So contrary to the article in the newspaper Nolensville's Mayor & Vice-Mayor haven't "GROWN-UP" & EXPANDED they have retreated to childhood with absolutely no fiscal responsibility.

Newspaper said Mayor's special event committee is soliciting donaations for fireworks. Well it really doesn't change a thing. The Mayor/Vice-Mayor are totally irresponsible using town's funds and donations this way. It is a known fact town's budget will not cover customary expenses much less unecessaary ones like exploding $1,000 dollar bills every minute for 8 or 10 minutes. Where is the outrage? I guess nobody gives a rap what this town board does?

Whatever happen to enforcing our silly flag ordinance? Hope Mayor doesn't try it on the fourth of July? Stupid is and stupid does. Take 10 minutes call every alderman and vote it out of existence now! No other town or city in the entire U.S. has such a stupid law. Mayor is violating our code of ethics by not enforcing this silly law. Town attorney won't do anything about it. Let the silly puppet parade continue?

You missed a very big point 9:02 AM. Everybody has their hand-out trying to solict funds for all kinds of causes. Expensive fireworks for a town that cannot afford them is quite a different matter. 7:27 and 11:24 have both got it right-on $8,500 or more should be given to sewer fund for the Historic District now that's a real need for future growth of Nolensville.

We love the "blog" because it always supports our viewpoint. Conservative, responsible and honest reporting. I am sure those with other viewpoints may disagree.
But it is what we believe. We know for a fact some 500 to 1,000 read it every week. Most readers will never comment, but they are out there defending what is the right thing to do.

I want to know where in the budget the town had set aside money for the fireworks! And why if it so important is there not a fireworks fund for next year along with our property tax increase?

We commented earlier that we love the blog cause it supports our beliefs. And yes we talk to people who don't agree with us or the blog. That is natural. What is "unatural" is for those that disagree with our viewpoint to insist that we present their views.
It is still a "free" country and nowhere does it say we have to help them advance their wrong views. We are so glad "the blog" screens every comment. We really don't care what the "lefties" think, say or do? Why print stuff that isn't fit to print? Keep up the good work!

Right Wing here.... Pass the hat at the fireworks to pay for itself. Our family looks forward to the event as long as it is safe. A community event at the 4 th wonderful.
YES, sewer fund for business and residents of the historic downtown is needed and lack of progress is the result of the old leadership.
Sadly we still have some around to use their influence and now that their special interest projects are here and were based on the now failing to pay for itself slow building industry, we are told fireworks will doom us.

God help us all in every way if this is the case.

Most of our guest writers are unavailable over the 4th. But we have two that will monitor the blog using their laptops from wherever they are traveling. Seems tempers are strong about the fireworks prompting a couple of comments that we had to delete. Let's hope the professional fireworks people don't start a fire anywhere.
