SUPER/SIZE "WHOPPERS" YOU WON'T BELIEVE!
FIVE MORE YEARS IN A STRIP MALL?
2 MILLION DOLLAR TOWN HALL SITE?
TEMPORARY TOWN HALL WITH 4.5 ACRES ON CLOVERCROFT RD.
No. 1 WHOPPER! Remember the Tennessean article Monday 6/6/05 headline read Nolensville Awaits Appraisal on proposed town hall property? The word was that the current lease is up on 12/31/05 per landlord/realtor Ken Kelley. But the article stated the Mayor said he was able to work out a deal to continue the lease up to 5 years with a 90-day cancellation. The Mayor said "we are no longer under the gun of losing our lease."
OPPS??? We have been told none of the above has been VOTED ON and APPROVED BY BOMA (Board of Mayor/Aldermen), the Planning Commission and the Town Hall Committee. The article states the Mayor favors the 2 million dollar site across Nolensville Road from the Piggly Wiggly for sale by Kelley Properties. We were also told this site was voted down by BOMA and the Planning Commission. Alderman Joe Curtsinger, Chairman of the town hall committee said "so many people on so many committees have endorsed the purchase of a private residence (pictured) on Clovercroft.
No. 2 WHOPPER! Same Tennessean article: "The Mayor said that the Planning Commission, of which the Mayor is a member, went against a previous vote on a comprehensive plan to keep the commercial center of town along the North Nolensville road corridor by recommending that the town hall be farther out from this area." SURPRISE..SURPRISE?
We are told there never was a vote on any kind of a plan for a commercial center plan...WHY YOU ASK???. because there is no formal final draft of this plan and it has never been approved or voted on ... PERIOD! One thing is for certain and that is the residents and taxpayers of Nolensville must not be pressured into approving the purchase of a 2 MILLION DOLLAR SITE across from a "strip mall." Where is it written that the new town hall must be located on Nolensville road??? Answer: Nowhere!
The next Nolensville BOMA MEETING IS THURSDAY 7/7/05.
Click on the town hall website. Hopefully the July meeting agenda will be posted prior to the meeting. Plan now to be there and you will be able to speak out.
